‘Low kick and hard bop’
Discuss Low Kick and Hard Bop, the 2001 album by Dutch DJ and record shop owner Solex. Built from samples of unlikely and often kitschy records pulled from her own shop, the album assembles fragments of pop, jazz, rock, and obscurities into an idiosyncratic strain of lo-fi electronica.
Join us to consider an album that turns the overlooked and unfashionable into something entirely its own.
